Prompt from sunonhair: This is what I want: A grown up Sunny, whether she follows Snake's or Otacon's footsteps and becomes a solider/hacker, or even if she just grows up to be a somehow normal kid (which, judging by the end of MGS4 seems to be the case). To put it simply, a character study. Bonus points if it delves in her stunted emotional growth.
Warnings: PG-13 Blockbusterspoitation violence, some language, super-brief reference to sex.

Fic's 7.8k words but I think I might actually finish soon. It developed a final battle. I always seem to forget I can't write action scenes until I'm doing one.

P.S. I saw it in 3D, and if you've got your pick of formats I'd recommend going with that one. I did spend the first half of it faintly motion-sick, but it actually kind of worked on an immersion level because I got over it around the same time Sully did. Talk about player-avatar synchronicity.

For me, I recognize that the pairings I enjoy best for reasons of aesthetic/chemistry/subtext are sometimes not the same as ones I find the most emotionally healthy or progressive for the characters. (There's an additional quandary to this in fandoms like Metal Gear where there's just seriously no such thing as a completely healthy relationship for anyone, but some are clearly just doing the best they can.)

However, it probably comes down to What OTP Means To You, which might be a far more prolonged discussion. Is it a True Pairing because it's positive, or because it excites you? Are there additional criteria?

And why is this fic 4,000 words and still not done?
